Average Foot Angles and Toe Length Recommendations
for Resetting your Rocky Mountain Horse.

Front Foot Toe Should remain at an average of 4 to 4 1/4 in toe length.
Always trying to keep a good heel to toe ratio.
The standard angle should be 50 to 52 degrees.
‘Always check the angle before you trim the feet and if you are satisfied with the
smoothness of your gait remain at that angle.’

Rear Foot toe should be between 3  1/4 and 3 1/2 in toe length. You will always have a shorter back
foot than that of the front.
The standard angle should be between 57 and 60 degrees.
